In an effort to assist you with the problems that may arise from the public sewer system, the following information may be of value to you as a homeowner or business person:

Never pour grease down sink drains, garbage disposals or toilets.

Restaurant and building owners should have grease traps that are properly designed, installed and maintained on a regular basis.

City of Vineland Plumbing Code requires that any fixtures (toilets, sinks, bathtubs, washing machines) subject to backflow of sewage from the public sewer be protected by the appropriate backwater prevention device or check valve.

Landis Sewerage Authority will not be responsible for any damages caused by wastewater entering a home through below grade or below ground fixtures.

For your protection, your homeowner's insurance carrier may offer coverage for sewer backup with a limit of $25,000.
